چکیده

MgB2 pellets that were sintered by Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS) from commercial powder soldered a SPS process and compared to unsoldered ones. The samples characterized scanning transmission electron microscopy which have shown no visible defects at the junction. SQUID magnetometry four probes resistance measurements confirmed present same magnetic properties as presented soldering technique could find applications for manufacturing superconducting devices with custom shapes be used rotors motors generators, magnets shields. This new approach generate high potential interest industrials in these connected domains such development of electrical planes using technologies.

Effect of sintering temperature on the superconducting properties of MgB2

In this study, as much as 10 and 15 wt.% nanosized silicon and carbon (Si+C) were reacted with (Mg+2B) at 650°C and 850°C, respectively, for 1 hour. The phase formation, surface morphology and superconducting properties of these samples were evaluated. The relative peak intensity as calculated from the XRD patterns indicates the formation of large Mg2Si volume fraction at low sintering temperat...

Application of Spark Plasma Sintering for Manufacturing of Thermoelectric Materials

V-VI thermoelectric compounds like Bi2Te3-based alloys are well known for room temperature applications like Peltier coolers or thermogenerators. Their anisotropic physical properties and mechanical weakness are a problem for the manufacturing. To overcome the mechanical problem Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS) was used. 2 inch Wafers of polycrystalline bismuth telluride based n-type and p-type the...

Microwave properties of superconducting MgB2

Measurements of 10 GHz microwave surface resistance, Rs , of dense MgB2 wire and pellet are reported. Significant improvements are observed in the wire with reduction of porosity. The data lie substantially above the theoretical estimates for a pure Bardeen–Cooper–Schrieffer s-wave superconductor. However, the Rs ~20 K! of the wire is an order of magnitude lower than that of polycrystal YBa2Cu3...

Photoresponse Mechanism of Superconducting MgB2

The recent discovery of superconductivity in MgB2, with its BCS-like Cooper pairing mechanism and the 40-K critical temperature, and the demonstration of efficient single-optical-photon detection in superconducting NbN nanowire meanders inspired an interest in the development of superconducting radiation detectors based on MgB2. We report the results of our experimental and theoretical studies ...

Fabrication of Nanostructured Cu matrix Nanocomposites by High Energy Mechanical Milling and Spark Plasma Sintering

Spark plasma sintering (SPS) is a sintering process that is capable of sintering hard worked powders in short times. This technique was used to fabricate bulk Cu and Cu-SiC nanocomposites. Pure Cu and mixed powders of Cu including 4 vol% of SiC nanoparticles were mechanically alloyed for 25 h and sintered at 750˚C under vacuum condition by SPS method. Microstructures of the materials were chara...
